Well, I'm trying out yet another email program with which to dispense my weekly missives - this week's application: Eudora Light. I'm too cheap to shell out the bucks for the Professional version, so I gleaned this one from the internet - Downloads.com - cool place for neat free stuff! Unfortunately, this program has no bells and whistles and so lacks all the nice colorful "point and click" email and web links, but it handles my large distribution list better than Netscape and MSIE (pathetic). Any suggestions will be welcomed as a desert nomad welcomes the oasis... For all those who need em, there are a couple of MP3s on the website now - big files, as you may know, so prepare for the long download if you care to partake. I got a request for a CD from a radio station in Belgium the other day - the global market hath wended it's tentacles into my pastoral NH abode. That's Cool! Jude says the next big trip will be to Europe, and, well, she's the boss! Onward and .... ? GIGS THIS WEEK Tuesday, July 20th 9PM (yep, that's tonight) EBENEZER KEZAR'S Lovell, ME 207-925-3200 Another one of these so-called "open mic features" where I am, in essence, the "kareoke machine" for the visiting NYC future Broadway stars. The cool thing is that these folks are truly talented and spare no expense when it comes to dishing out the human spirit. A nice listening audience to boot, it's a fine performance opportunity before all hell breaks loose. FRIDAY, JULY 23 noon-5pm THE FALCON RIDGE FOLK FESTIVAL Hillsdale, NY www.falconridgefolk.com Here it comes - the big one. As a 1999 Showcase Artist, I will be performing 10th out of about 30 artists, between 12n - 5p at this most prestigious folk festival. That gets me on at around 1 - 1:30pm ... if you're planning to attend, please sally up to the front of the stage and make yourself visible that I may have eyes to gaze into and souls for whom to speak... I can't express enough the pride with which I shall be participating in this event. ... and later that night .. Friday, July 23 9pm THE STEAK LOFT Mystic, CT 860-536-2661 God knows I tried to reschedule this gig.. phone calls and emails notwithstanding, I've been unable to "weasel out" of my obligations - such is the essence of the troubador, and so, rather than making the "crepuscular" scene at the campground, I shall be trekking across the fine state of CT to the rocky coast. This is a fine venue and performances here are always fulfilling. - -------------------------- Wanna Buy A CD? JOEL CAGE: Last Hard Road & JOEL CAGE: Nobody are available for your purchase. I was perusing "The Book" the other day and found this charming quote: "There is no better way to spend the evening than to hear you play - old faves and new slices of sound... may the music dripping from your fingers and lips match that which soars through your mind." -TK Beautiful! Thanks folks. JC ------------------------------ End of cageheads-digest V2 #3 *****************************
