The concert was undoubtedly a success, no matter how you measure it. I only wish the audience, as enthusiastic as it was, had given Joel a standing ovation or two, probably a rarity at Passim. He certainly deserved it. He was definitely in command of that room. When he sang he pulled everything, and I mean everything he could out of each note. He has an apparent confidence and presence on stage that can only come from years of work and hard gigs. This was my experience of Joel Thursday regardless of his occasional shaking hands. Stephanie, thanks again for your company (you're cool too) and getting me the best seats in the house. It was also a pleasure to meet Joel and talk briefly before the show.
