Hi :o)) I am too a fan of ADL.... It's the first time I write on that Mailing List ( ML ), and in fact, i have subscribed to be in it, 8months ago.. I am just a little bit.......( comment on dit étonner ?? ) euh..... amazed by all that last mails :o) Those are the first one I receive... ( is it necessary to talk in english ? ) Well.. I am student, I live in Nantes.. my last year as a student.. Then I will go back to Paris... I first discovered ADL on NPA ( nulle part Ailleurs ) when Philippe Gildas invited them to play : ' L'accord Parfait '... hum, is there a relation between Valérie and Philippe ??? hum... that's not our problem.. Well, I was seduced.. charmed in front of that girl, that music, that musicians, that song.. the sounds.. all was good !! I recorded that moment on video, and.. when Ibought the first album, I found the version on TV was better than the one on the Disc... Well... So.. the music reminds me Cure song.. like ' Friday I am in love', but.. in fact, I was so happy it was a french band.. because, it means accessible... not too big :o))) etc etc... Well.... I wonder when the new album will be edited ? I read somewhere that the band was in Studio to record their third albums.. will they go on tour before ??? Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Mar 1999 14:02:32 +0100 From: Francois Gibello Subject: autour de lucie Open Road Real Audio Session Hi Everyone ! Well, it seems that my mail got a lot of attention as my email box was quite flooded...and from what I have understood, this mailing list was quite quiet lately. Anyway, the good news is that I have downloaded this week end the whole session and turn it to WAV format from Real Audio Format. I will certainly do this with one of the other french band "Air" some of you suggested (I will keep you updated on this one later) The bad news is that the quality is really bad. Let me explain why. I have done this before, and usuallly you can download a Real Audio file depending on the speed of your connection to the Internet. I have a really fast connection here in Sweden. Unfortunately, KCRW has choosen to put the simplest modem 28.8 kbits real audio file on their site, which is extremly compacted (mono and 8000 Hz). Knowing that CD quality is 44100 Hz and stereo, the result is not making me happy at all, even if I use the right software to make a Pseudo stereo 44.1 Khz file, so I wonder if it is worth sending a CD with such bad quality to everyone....Consider this, I think it is not worthy making MP3 files from this either as one of you suggested me. They are damn too much compacted IMO. Well. It's up to you to let me know if you still consider to get this from me, or not. It you are really into AdL, as I am, this session is still enjoyable to listen once in a while, but this will never be the kind of CD that you would like to have with you anytime. You are warned. I won't make money on this, so the whole cost will be : A Blank CD + shipping handling cost. That's it for now. Gotta run. Francois PS : is there a way to configure the mailing list server so that there is some clever way to add a prefix (like [brouillons] ) in the subject of every mail, I hate having my mailing box messed up by tons of unsorted mails... Yves ? Pourrais tu regler ce probleme. Si tu as besoin d aide, n hesites pas a me contacter personellement, apres tout, l informatique c'est ma profession. Surtout le web, les cgi et autres... - - ______________________________________________________ François Gibello Utero digital media AB Interactive Media Developer Holländargatan 13 Phone:(+46) (8) 22 05 02 S-11136 Stockholm Fax:(+46) (8) 22 05 01 SWEDEN francois.gibello@utero.se ______________________________________________________ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Mar 1999 18:35:00 +0100 (CET) From: Yves Denneulin Subject: [brouillons] Various answers [ french translation: Bienvenue aux nouveaux! reponses aux questions: 1) pas de dates de concerts prevus 2) ils travaillent sur le 3eme album mais on a peu de chances de le voir apparaitre avant l'an 2000 3) il existe quelques bootlegs de concert. s'il y a de la demande je peux organiser un tape-tree ] Hello fellow brouilloners, It's nice to see this list more active. Welcome to all the newcomers! It would be a good idea to introduce yourself like Francois and Mathieu did so that we know each other better. Fist, let me answer some of the questions raised here. I plan to do the (long due) update of the website this coming week-end with these infos. 1) no concerts are planned so far. I think our best chance to see them this summer will be Lilith fair again. Too bad for us, frenchies. 2) they are working on the third album, they *should* (this information is 2 months old) enter studio around september for a tentative release in spring of 2000. 3) you can write to the list either in french or english but try to make a short summary of your post in the other language like I did on top of this message. 4) there are a couple of (bootleg) live recordings floating around. I organised a tape tree on a french mailing-list a year ago, I can do it again here if peoples are interested. The accoustic version of _L'accord parfait_ alone is worth the CD, IMO (not to mention Valerie's delightful french accent ;-) ) - -- Yves. So let me try to make a PRE-master as soon as possible. I will nevertheless try in the meantime to enhance a little the overall quality...though I can't make miracles, don't get me wrong ! Then I will make copies. So just drop me a line (again) for all the one who wants it. Thanks Yves for the header in the mail subject. You are fast and I appreciate it. Question : Anyone with some AdL gig experience over there ? I just caught them once in Lyon in 96 I think. They were so shy, but the concert was so good...we were a least 75 people :))) - ---- Je suis entierement d'accord avec Yves. Well, I propose to get both of your tapes and turn them to CDs, as I have done so many times with so many old boots tapes, and then making them available to the list ... What do you say.
