Not so much silent...I just can't write in French! But since you have asked...I like both AdL albums they are just very different but both are brilliant! >>would you recommend Ivy to a an AdL fan? yes, but I think AdL is better. What about the band Mono? ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re: brouillons-digest V1 #7 Author: LeQuebec60 at X-MAIL Date: 4/15/98 1:56 AM So Pete, would you recommend Ivy to a an AdL fan? And for all you silent types out there, which do you prefer - the first AdL album or the second? Why? (I myself am not telling until I have proof there are more than 3 people on this list = P) Bri ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 15 Apr 1998 18:35:13 +0200 (MET DST) From: Yves Denneulin Subject: Immobile or echappee belle? [comparaison entre le premier et le second album. Le second est bien meilleur pour moi, Valerie confirme lors des interviews que son ecriture a bonifie entre les deux] leslie told us: > I just can't write in French! This shouldn't prevent you from posting! In view of the state of the internet in France there will probably be much more american than french peoples on this list, that's why I decided it to be bilingual when I created it. As far as possible you should try to translate the main topic of your post in french but if you can't it's not very important. And then Bri said: > So Pete, would you recommend Ivy to a an AdL fan? I would. Ivy's singer is french and their music are close even if I prefer AdL of course :-) I find Valerie's lyrics superior too. > And for all you silent types out there, which do you prefer - the > first AdL album or the second? I have no problem to answer: the second! It is much more rich both musically and lyrically than the first one. Valerie said recently that in the lyrics of the first one she didn't know how to say what she wanted to say, so her lyrics were more poetic, less direct. In the second she knew where she wanted to go and went there! The lyrics there are amazing when you understand french. [Private joke: Bri, are you trying to start a "best album" thread on every list you are subscribed to? :-) (yes, I am a Little Diva oldtimer)] Finally Antonio gave us a nice address: Congratulations, great job! Do you mind if I add a link to the AdL page to your work? Later folks, I will be in the USA next week, probably away from my mail.
