Subject: Short review of LC at Luna Park, May 31

Hello everyone -

     Sorry this review of Lauren's 5/31/99 gig at Luna Park is so late.  But
hopefully late is better than never!

     Actually, this review won't be too long since the gig was a very quaint
affair. It took place on Memorial Day, and with many people just returning
from the brief holiday, Hollywood was pretty quite this night. 

     Still, Lauren and Corky James put on a great show that was a pleasure
to watch.  And needless to say, she looked terrific in a very cool black
fisherman's hat and a sparkling metallic turquoise pullover.  Then again,
she could wear a paper bag and still look incredible.

     But even cooler is her new hairstyle.  She cut her hair to
shoulder-length (it used to be a good few inches longer), straightened it
out, and dyed it brown.  The bottom line is that it looks GREAT.  

     Also, it was apparently the last time that she and Gary Clark will be
performing together for a while, as he was scheduled to go to England for
some time.  Come back soon Gary!

     So all in all, it was another great evening with Lauren.  Really, can
any show by Lauren be anything but wonderful?

     Here was the setlist:

5.  Who You Become
6.  Burn 
7.  Breed 
8.  I Want What I Want 

Songs 6, 7 and 8 were performed with Gary Clark.  Gary then followed Lauren
with his own set.  At the end of his set, Lauren and Corky joined Gary and
performed "Space Oddity," the David Bowie cover they've been doing for a
while now.  And that was that!

P.S.  Look for Lauren to play the Meet Me Cafe sometime soon - perhaps
within the next 3-4 weeks.  She said that this would likely be her next gig.
