So here it is - a report of Lauren's gig at Luna Park on Thursday, March 18, 1999. This show was significant for two reasons. First, it marked Lauren's first high-profile public show since she started playing around town in Janurary. For those not familiar with it, Luna Park is a Hollywood club that specializes in up-and-coming artists of all musical genres, and is much respected around town. However, it is a 21 and over club, so keep that in mind if you want to see her perform here in the future. Second, it was the first time that Lauren performed on stage with both Corky James and Gary Clark. As most of you know, she's performed with both of them separately, but not together (in public at least). In short, it was the best of both worlds, with both gentlemen combining their immense talents to help Lauren put on a great show. Overall, the show was as playful and loose as any she's played this year, with Lauren appearing very relaxed in the cozy confines of the club. In fact, the only thing wrong with the show had nothing to do with her, but with the rude chatterbugs that kept yacking up a storm during her set. To these people we say this: Take a very long walk on a short pier - immediately. So noisy people aside, it was another fine evening of great music. Until next time, take care! William :) Here is the setlit: 1. Lullaby 2. Wash Your Mouth Out Baby 3. Sugar Snow 4. Perfect Again 5. We Give It Away 6. Who You Become 7. Car Wash (Windows Down) 8. Space Oddity 9. Burn 10. Breed 11. I Want What I Want P.S. Corky and Gary played together on songs 8-11. The first seven songs were with Lauren and Corky alone. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 24 Mar 1999 09:23:45 +0100 From: Alex van Renesse Subject: lauren christy gig 24 March Again a bit late but I just received the message: Dolls Head gig, Wednesday 24th, March 1999 10PM sharp, at the dragon Fly (Santa Monica Blvd. at Wilcox) L.C.
