Among his extensive credits (besides Quo Vadis, Evil Under The Sun, and Billy Budd) are: Spartacus Death On The Nile Logan's Run Charlie Chan and the Curse of the Dragon Queen The Last Remake of Beau Geste Lorenzo's Oil I believe the other film Lauren mentions in her song is Dark Cafe, but it is not listed in the Internet Movie Database . If I am mishearing the line, someone please correct me. Could've Been - They need to release this as a single 2. Letterbomb 3. Magazine - I managed to get hold of a copy of the radio-only promo single 4. The Color of the Night 5. You Read Me Wrong By the way, I don't know if any of you are fans of Donna Lewis ("I Love You Always Forever"), but her new single "I Could Be The One" is cowritten and produced by Gary Clark. I assume he is the same Gary Clark as did all that work on Lauren's "Breed" album. However, I didn't find any reference to it on his web page. Lewis' new cd comes out Tuesday, July 14 (in the US). I'm anxious to hear the song to see if she has maintained her sound or if his influence has made it more similar to Lauren's sound. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jul 1998 16:57:55 -0400 From: "Muse" Subject: Re: favorites Hello Daniel and lovely list-members: Interesting that most everyone chose Could've Been as one of their favorites (it's #1 on my list). Yes, it definitely should have been a single. Oh well. Could've been, should've been. . . . >Here are my five favorites by Lauren Christy: >1. Could've Been - They need to release this as a single >2. Letterbomb >3. Magazine - I managed to get hold of a copy of the radio-only promo >single Does this sound any different from the album version, or is it just an edit? Was this song promoted at radio after Breed? I'm surprised they didn't release I Want What I Want to radio (or did they and I just never heard it?). It seems they tried to market her harder songs instead of the more mainstream ones (IWWIW and CB). >4. The Color of the Night >5. Let me know, 'cause if it's 1/2 as good as the Breed album then I'll buy it. I'm a member of the Madonna mailing-list and I tell all the other Madonna fans how good Lauren Christy is. I'll do the same on this list: I think all of you would really enjoy Madonna's Ray of Light album. It shares many of the great qualities of Lauren's albums: original lyrical themes, beautiful vocals, flawless production, and an innovative sound. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 10 Jul 1998 20:07:48 EDT From: Juvenilia@aol.com Subject: Blue Planet Hey everyone. Well as long as people are posting their favorite Lauren Christy songs, I might as well do the same: 1. The Night I Saved Peter Ustinov ...there is just something about this song that grabs me. I've been listening to this song since "Breed"'s release and I'm still not sick of it. 2. The Color Of The Night ...This was the first song I had ever heard by Lauren and I still love it. 3. Breed ...This song shocked me when I first heard it. It's so different than anything she had done prior. 4. Vanessa's Father ...Lauren's ballads are as good as her fast songs and this one is great. 5. I Want What I Want ...I don't know why I like this one, but I do. Do I need a reason? :-) And like Daniel said, Donna Lewis' new album is coming out next Tuesday. It will be entitled "Blue Planet" and I'm anxiously awaiting the release. Merril Bainbridge is another artist releasing something in the coming month. Look out for hers too. She's the Australian singer famous for her song, "Mouth."
