In the latest issue of Ballbuster (#4), Paul Autry submits the following review: A thirteen-song CD that has emotion ("Wedding Ring", "Door Locks"), rock ("Smokin' In The Jane Room", "Hey, Romeo") and even hints of country and blues ("Heather"). Brenda Kahn is a woman with obvious talents. With the proper exposure, she has the potential to dominate the music charts and Top 10 lists worldwide. I'm not quite sure of her history. But, going by this album, I'm pretty sure what her future is gonna be like. A mature singer/songwriter with an excellent CD that's not to be missed. There's a lot of stars in the sky, but this one shines the brightest. =============================== COMMENTS [1] "With the proper exposure, she has the potential to dominate the music charts and Top 10 lists worldwide." Whew, Ed, what a goal to shoot for! [2] The Ballbuster web site is located at: http://www.magamall.com/mag/oo325/ballbuster.htm Magamall, in general, is a good place for those in search of unique and unusual magazines. [3] Ballbuster can be purchased at a Barnes & Noble bookstore nearest you. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Feb 1998 16:16:04 -0800 From: eda@musiclabmgmt.com Subject: Re: Brenda Kahn Ballbusted Gordon, Was there ever any doubt? Now we just need the good people from Rolling Stone and Billboard to write the same sort of things. I'm sure the folks at Shanachie are all over that, though. Charlie, please see that the appropriate person(s) over there see this and do their best (as I'm doing) to tell the world. Thanks. The tour was a tremendous success with about 5,000 Europeans seeing Brenda live (many more on TV and radio) and at least that many autographs being signed in 20 cities. Come out and see Brenda and the band (Ernie Adzentoivich on bass and Vin Scialla on drums) at: *Coney Island High, 15 St Marks Pl, NYC 212674-7959 Wednesday, Feb. 25th at 10pm *The Pink Pony, 176 Ludlow St, NY Friday, March 6th at 11:00 pm (Solo Show!) *Fez, 380 Lafayette St, NYC 212-533-3000 Wednesday, March 25th at 10:00 (Peter Salette at 9:00) If you need more reason to come out, let me read you the latest review of Brenda's Record, Outside the Beauty Salon, from, of all places, Ballbuster (#4) magazine (on sale now at Barnes and Noble): "A thirteen song cd that has emotion ("Wedding Ring", "Door Locks"), rock and roll("Smokin' in the Jane Room", "Hey Romeo") and even hints of country and blues ("Heather"). Brenda Kahn is a woman with obvious talents. With the proper exposure, she has the potential to dominate the music charts and Top 10 lists worldwide. I'm not quite sure of her history.
