He was a surly drunk who seemed to be bothered that there were actually people attending the show. Mostly he stood on a chair and glared at anyone who came near him. A couple of times he teetered and he finally did fall right off the chair while the camera was rolling. You can detect his shakey hands throughout the vid. Very unprofessional. I watched him drink three whiskeys while filming. The overall video quality, I feel, is pretty lame. And I agree with Gordon that editing the actual show down so much didn't help and the sound could have been captured from the board and mixed with the video if they were going to charge that much for it. It also would have been nice if they didn't make Brenda pay for her own copy. These folks are obviously barely putting food on the table. I wish them improved fortunes. On another subject, how does everyone feel about a Brenda Kahn video Anthology? Peace, H.I. I've always wanted to see the videos that Brenda Kahn has made in the past, and I'm sure many others are as well. As far as I know, there are about 5 videos of Brenda Kahn and I've only seen 1 of them ("I Don't Sleep ... I Drink Coffee Instead"). The "Yellow Sun" video is supposedly a good one with professional actors, but I've never seen it. I only saw a video capture from her three earlier videos from the Goldfish album via Mike Evans. I think Mike Evans may be the only person who may have seen all 5 Brenda Kahn videos (don't know if he has seen the "Coffee" video, though). Good idea, Ed ... put me down for one. P.S. I just hope the public doesn't get the impression that all Brenda Kahn videos are like the ones from onlinetv.com. :( P.P.S. Making Brenda pay for her own copy ... that's really, really low. They should be the ones paying Brenda for the right to tape her concert. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 15 Nov 1997 18:00:29 -0800 From: eda@musiclabmgmt.com Subject: Re: Brenda Kahn Video Anthology There are actually 6 videos counting the new one for "Heather" which is great. The Ballad of Ridge St, however, may be my favorite. These are all professionally produced music videos, not to be confused with performance videos of varying quality such as the on-line tv thing. I haven't seen "Coffee" one, I have the Com3 compilation with three Brenda videos, and I saw "Yellow Sun" run at an HMV record store. I just got a copy of the onlinetv video (thanks Geoff!) but haven't watched it yet. I give a thumbs up too for a Brenda video anthology. I don't care for videos much but BK is one of the very few acts I'd consider buying such a thing. Mike ------------------------------ End of bklist-digest V1 #103 ****************************
