The most recent slew of booksB I checked out from the library included 'The Big Book of Misunderstanding', by Jim Gladstone.B I selected it based upon its title, its cover, and its blurb - 'a darkly funny jaunt through the collective adolescence of his whole family', whose narrator is weighing the pros and cons of suicide at age 22, and proceeds to explain how he got to this suicidal point. It wasn't until I'd already started the book that I noticed one of the reviews on the back cover - by none other than 'Susan Werner, Songwriter'.B She says 'This book is sweet and true and surprisingly honest in a world of worked-up horseshit. It made me thing very much of my gay brother and the feelings he had when he was growing up.B But I related to all the characters in the book.B I have met people like them.B I've even been a few of them'. Small world, huh?B Oh, and it's a pretty entertaining read. Suzie T.
