It was so much fun, I downloaded the audio version and am currently listening to it, which is even more fun. The protagonist, Edward Zanni, begins many passages with....... "When they make the movie of my life....". It's even more fun hearing it spoken aloud. I highly recommend this book, and its sequel, 'The Attack of the Theater People". Okay, to make this an official SW post, I'll go out on a limb and say that I got my copy of 'Classics' before Christmas, and immediately gave it a listen...and I will admit that it doesn't do a whole lot for me. I have always said I'd listen to Susan sing the phone book, and pay for the privilege, and I'm not saying this project is bad....it just doesn't move me. Her last three projects have been, in my humble opinion, stellar, and this one...well, it just doesn't click with me. I love when Susan does covers, and I've heard many of these in concert, and have enjoyed them immensely - but they're always just her and the piano or guitar. I guess the whole string quartet thing is lost on me. So, there, let the stoning begin - I freely admit that this new CD is not one that's going to get major airplay in my house. I will say that the photos in the jewel case are absolutely beautiful!!! I"m very curious about what everybody thinks - and if I'm in a defininite minority!! I"m also curious why Susan is seldom the person playing the piano on her studio disks.
