Brought a reminiscence from the early 60s - when my cousin was going to school at Northern Illinois Unviersity (in DeKalb), his off-campus housing was in this gorgeous old brick Victorian era home that had belonged to Jacob Haish - who was one of the several DeKalb men involved with early barb wire. There were still interesting old photos on the walls. If my longer-term memory serves, several different men laid claim to the invention, but it was really developed by one guy and then several other farmers/ranchers made variations on the construction.
