Wells" Subject: susan in a sermon As I was sitting here tossing around ideas and thoughts for my last sermon at the church where I've been working for the past 9 months (my internship ends this weekend), I am planning to preach about what I have learned through this program and what new spiritual insights I have gained or what my relationship with God has been like through this program or whatnot, and I was trying to think of quotes that I might use... and I was thinking I might use some lyrics from "Did Trouble Me" since that song really speaks to my faith journey... so just out of curiosity I decided to Google the lyrics to see if anyone else had posted them or whatnot, and lo and behold, I found this little mini-sermon/homily from Trinity Wall Street in NYC where someone talked about this same song in a sermon! It's just a quick, brief thing, not very developed at all, but just thought I'd share this... http://www.trinitywallstreet.org/welcome/?monday&s=89 I actually have a friend who works at Trinity... (they're the church right near Ground Zero that sort of became the makeshift shrine and temporary home for the rescue workers after 9/11) Anyway, if y'all are interested I will share my own sermon once I get done with it. Not sure if I will wind up using any "Gospel Truth" references or not; we'll see... Pie in the Sky House Concerts (me) in cooperation with my sister (her house) are pleased to host singer/songwriter Don White in concert in Macomb, MI, on Saturday, June 9, 2007, 8pm. Please spread the word to anybody you may know in the greater Detroit, MI area Don White is a great friend and a great entertainer. His shows defy description, consisting as they do of part music, part story-telling, and part stand-up. I am honored that he has agreed to do this show for us. Check him out, if you're not familiar with his work. www.donwhite.net Try as I might, I cannot come up with even the slightest of Susan-Don connections, other than they've played some of the same venues; but I think it's safe to say we all wholeheartedly support live acoustic music, so I hope you'll all forgive me this shameless plug. Hmmmm....perhaps, at the house concert, I'll wear my new, limited-edition 'Church of Evangelistic Agnostics' t-shirt. Tracy, thank you for always being on the lookout and sharing all the Susan stuff you find in the Great Out There - you rock!!!!
