Has anyone else seen "Jesus Camp" ...? I also rented the movie from Netflix Chuck and I really enjoyed it... it kind of creeped me out but I suppose not as much as I feared it would. I certainly don't have anything against Christians (most definitely not), but the way in which those children/preteens/early teens were forced into adopting certain beliefs just seemed cruel to me. It would be really interesting to do a follow up in say, 10-15 years, to see how those kids turned out as adults. I highly recommend the movie. At one time it was available on http://throwawayyourtv.com/ , but I don't see it there anymore (copyright violation perhaps?). I'm afraid I won't be in Rockford this time Chuck... have a great time, I know the new songs will sound absolutely terrific! And if you see Kellie, send her my love, and of course Susan as well... and... a bit early... but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHUCK! I saw it after it was nominated for an academy award.... I think back to the days I went to Jewish Camp and how different an experience it was! Ya I think of Puff as being a Kosher Dragon frolicking by the Galilee (I'm not kidding). But that's where the indocrination stopped! The kids in the movie seemed to be sent there only with the intention of having someone whip them into an emotional frenzy over whatever the topic of the day was (i.e. the "murder" of the unborn etc...) And then they were left to entertain themselves on a swing set or with coloring books. You'd think camp would involve at least some normal camp activities???? Did anyone else find it a bit odd that the woman running the camp seemed to have no family or kids of her own? I felt sorta sorry for her b/c there was this aura of loneliness around her. ANyways, I suggest seeing the movie. Its, if anything, a glimpse into a life that many of us normally wouldn't have. ~Simona ____________________________________________________________________________________ Expecting?
