I don't have an iPod. ( Horrors! ) But I played with a friends once. The songs have names right? The names appear on the little window thingy? Could someone post the "track listings" ? Did all the songs we thought were gonna be on the album make it on the album. ( Yes - I still call them albums. ) Is "the-mysterious-and-beautiful-song-about-death" on the CD? Is it the last song? Please tell me the name of the song so I can stop calling it the "the-mysterious-and-beautiful-song-about-death". Do any radio stations have the physical CD yet? Can we start calling and email them to request songs from "The Gospel Truth" ? I'd actually buy an iPod - except I'm certain I would drop it and it would break. I've dropped every Walkman ever owned - hey- 30 bucks - if it breaks - I buy a new one. 250 bucks? Oh man - I just couldn't deal. see ya....Bob Paterson

When I first heard Susan in 1994 she did Last of the Good Straight Girls, of course. Having only heard LGSG once, the lines "But gone the days of the corduroy jumpers, And your very first string of pearls," stuck in my head. A couple days later I saw Susan again and I was talking to her about her songs, referring to LGSG simply as "Pearls." I think Susan knew what I meant, but I really have no idea. That said: the track listing is on Susan's website (click on the picture of the album, then on "learn more"). But here it is: 1.(Why Is Your) Heaven So Small 3:29 2.Help Somebody 2:51 3.Forgiveness 3:12 4.Did Trouble Me 3:35 5. Sunday Morning 4:05 6. Our Father (The New, Revised Edition) 3:30 7. Lost My Religion 3:07 8. Don't Explain It Away 4:04 9. I Will Have My Portion 3:02 10. Probably Not 2:55 11. Together 3:20 12. After All of This 2:37 Might "After All of This" be the "mysterious and beautiful song about death"? > > >I'd actually buy an iPod - except I'm certain I would drop it and it would >break. My iPod lives inside something called a RhinoSkin: an aluminum case well-padded inside with strips of foam. I've dropped it quite a few times, and it's still chugging along beautifully. Get yourself an iPod. I don't usually push products, but it's the greatest toy ever (OK, after the computer). You can certainly burn the to CD, and the CDs play in unrelated players without any problem. Still, you're right about eMusic being cheaper, and if "The Gospel Truth" were available there it would make sense to buy it. I just couldn't stand to wait. :) Susan is playing at the Iron Horse on my birthday! (I live in Providence, so I'm hoping to get to both that and the Boston show.) Just got my actual physical CD (not from iTunes) and it's not listed (shows track 11, "Together," as the last track), but it's on there... sort of as a hidden track, although it is a separate track (there is a lot of silence at the end of Track 11 but then that song actually is Track 12)... when I imported the CD into my iTunes it has that one as "Untitled"... but I guess on the website, as Jean has pointed out, it's called "After All of This"... And it's VERY nicely done, btw... just Susan and piano (with a kind of synthesizer, bell-like quality to the piano, not a traditional piano sound), no backup singers, no extra musical "accents" in the form of percussion or anything else, just like hearing Susan do it in concert except that the piano sounds different than a "real" piano. EXCELLENT. One of the best tracks on the whole CD, in my opinion (although I like all of them!!! "Probably Not" is FANTASTIC, by the way. Hilarious. Love it.) Just a note, if you actually buy the album at iTunes you don't get this track. They only have 11 tracks there.
