In the same way that Donald Trump invented "You're fired!," Susan invented the concept of time between trains. They sounded so marvelous, maybe it's a certain maturity that evolves with a life-long dedication to an art. That Martin sounded so good with that bottom string tuned so low. I don't think that I have ever heard "Bonsai" rendered so eloquently. Even "Time Between Trains" had a marvelous new flavor in the attack. I am never disappointed at a Werner show. If I hadn't eaten a Kobe burger in Serrano's before the show, I might have levitated off my seat. She claimed to be an evangelical agnostic; that can be a safe haven. Gnosis comes from the Greek meaning "To Know." It's the idea that one can find God through self-knowledge, which explains why all of the lost books of the Bible were banned by the Catholic Church; they're called the apocrypha--I think. We're living in another era where people kill in the name of God, and formal religion has done much to darken any belief in an all-knowing, loving guiding force. Howard Storm wrote in his book "My Descent Into Death" that God loves agnostics more than hypocritical religious zealots. But enough about that... I spent a lot of time reading the political blogs, and even a few expose's talking about named individuals breaking into the Nigerian embassy in Italy, stealing letterhead and a seal to forge a document about Uranium cakes. It was a long no-nonsense treatment about Fitzpatrick--the special prosector-- and his examination of this evidence. (www.counterpunch.org) No wonder I am losing my hair. We're so complacent. Meanwhile, there's that crazy economy (Google: The Grandfather Tax History Report) that is like the ultimate shell game. The one idea that has kept me sane through all of this reading is the thought that there are more good people walking the earth than bad. Peacekeepers are late bloomers perhaps, but remember, the power has always been with the people, the little men and women who keep the wheels turning. Now, with Bernanke pumping up the lending rate, many folks--especially those with ARMs may find their McMansions unaffordable. With so much American cash held by foreign interests, the wealthy immigrants will be buying the rug from under us. I am not hostile, but realistic. What strange times we live in. It's not a matter of political affiliation, or even ethnic or religious leanings. These divisions only serve the very wealthy. I would like to see real change, but that will only come with great misery. I am glad to be a small pea in an overcrowded pod. Andrew Jackson unleashed a similar modis operandi against the American Indian. So, I rest this night having enjoyed Susan's show; her music was comforting, and that lovely voice is ever so potent. She is the reigning queen of contemporary music. What a sad state of affirs that she is prohibited from the mainstream. We could talk about the CEO of Clear Channel, his connection to the University of Texas billion dollar trust fund -on whose board he sat-- investing the fund in Enron, while setting up a deal about a baseball stadium. There is great impotence in the illusion of wealth, especially when the masses are taxed beyond all measure of means. So, wait, watch, be vigilant, the times are a changing, or a change is gonna come. It's inevitable. I am at -----> www.myspace.com/frankadamsnj My new song "Shine" is there, and the title from my Beatle documentary called "Roll Up" and a song about peace "too Many". I used the Roland Fantom to write the waltzing part--almost real!!! The photo was taken in the Warrington Ales pub in Liverpool. Last weekend, I met Geoff Emerick--the Beatles recording engineer, who wrote a book about his time in the studio with the lads from L'pool; it's called "Here, There, and Everywhere." Highly recommended, and I even heard Pete Best play old rockers with his band. They were very good. I wish you peace, and excuse my pontificating diatribe Frank Tired of spam? Yahoo!
