Everyone in the country needs to hear this. I am sending this out to as many people I can. I think this is one of the most important songs written in the last many years. We recently saw Susan. Our kids (ages 9 and 11) both signed her arm! We went there because our kids both play piano and are thinking of taking up guitar too and we wanted them to see someone who masters both. They have of course, been familiar with Susan's music for years. We picked up the songbook and we'll see where that goes! Anyway we got to talking with Susan and I mentioned the song and how much it means to me and asked her about another one that I thought I heard a year or so back when I first heard that one; remember - the one with the old man - babbling - shaking his fist - tired and angry - and it ended up that the old man was a metaphor to "your country at war". Anyone remember that? That was something! Anyway - thanks again to Susan for the song! I replicated it here; http://www.stephenpmurphy.com/my_strange_nation.htm ...more copies on the web = good! This is what I will send to people. It has "other window" links to susan's site as well as the lyrics and the song. This of course for max exposure! Thanks Susan for letting us all have this! Or rather, there it is.....on the website, where you can listen or download. http://www.susanwerner.com if it speaks to you and for you, send it on to your friends who might share your viewpoint and enjoy hearing it (or refer them to the website!) - -s- p.s. we now have sheet music for Strange Nation, if you'd like to sing it at your next Daughters of The American Revolution meeting (i think it'd be lovely). a small fee applies. please write Nick Williams at katonkeyz@hotmail.com. Note From The Webmaster: MP3 and Lyrics are available on the website now. The link to download a zip file containing both can be found in the top left corner when you first visit the site. For those interested in the high fidelity version of the audio, you can download it as well. A link is available in the same place.
