I brought a copy of I Can't Be New for Fred Sokolow, Ian's guitar player who likes to play a lot of old standards, because I thought he might like to hear Susan's songbook songs. By coincidence, Ian's bass player last night was Tim Emmons, who played bass with Susan at the Cinegrill last fall. I spoke to Tim about the coincidence of me bringing a Susan CD for Fred and Tim being there last night. Tim told me that he was just listening to Susan's CD earlier that day. He said he'd never heard of her before the Cinegrill gig. He said, "She's really a smart lady."
