Well, not really, because Susan is on it. But this does give me ideas about my other Fast Folk CDs... Some of the songs on this, aside from Susan's "Irene," are really quite good. (I posted the lyrics a few years ago to Sherlyn's SW Lyric Archive site, which appears to be gone now - guess I'm a little out of the loop on that one.) Jackie Koresko's "The World Keeps Spinning 'Round" is lovely. And of course we all know how great Greg Simon's "The Great Out There" is. Shortly after the CD was released in September 1993, a release party concert was held at the Cherry Tree Co-Op on the U. of Penn campus, as part of their weekly Sunday night folk concert series. Nearly all of the performers on the CD were there; Susan was a conspicuous no-show, as she was at Christine Lavin's songwriter retreat on Martha's Vineyard. (Check out Susan's appearance on the "Follow That Road" CD, which was recorded that same weekend.) Each of the performers did two songs - some included a song from the CD, some did not. I remember The Electric Farm did two songs which were better than the one on the CD; one of their songs was a tune about Les Paul called "Rhubarb Red." I never did hear of The Electric Farm again... and I've wondered what happened to some of the other performers too, like David Orleans, Kolleen Bowers and Susan Herrick, who seemed to be going somewhere at the time. I believe Betsy Moore Robinson moved to Chicago shortly after that show... I remember she was freakin' gorgeous. Barry Rabin continues in the biz, mostly as a promoter. John Flynn still has a (well-deserved) loyal following, and Ben Arnold has gone on to do great solo albums (for Columbia Records and others) and indy releases as a member of 4 Way Street. - -Tim HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 May 2005 17:59:55 EDT From: PBacoustic@aol.com Subject: Re: CD In a message dated 5/18/2005 4:33:19 PM Central Daylight Time, tdgroup@earthlink.net writes: Ben Arnold has gone on to do great solo albums (for Columbia Records and others) and indy releases as a member of 4 Way Street.
