New York on April 2? Say, Garrison Keillor is doing "A Prairie Home Companion" at Town Hall that night. Wouldn't it be great if... oh wait, Susan's show is at 7:30 and that's a conflict. Ah well. I can dream, can't I? ;-) - -Tim HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Feb 2005 23:45:45 EST From: NYlaw4me@aol.com Subject: Susan at The Town Crier Cafe Hello to my fellow Susie admirers. I am coming out of the shadows and posting for a change since I saw Ms. Werner last Friday (2/18) at the Towne Crier and she was amazing as always, and someone has to carry the ball. (BTW, all of you who see her and don't post ought to reconsider, too!!!) She has a few new tunes I love (one is like 'When I'm away from you'--awesome) and is covering the tinkling piano music of "If I only had a brain" from the Wizard of OZ (it slayed me with the giggles, not just me, the audience, too). She closed with La Vie En Rose (and I always want to hear that one). Ms. Werner bantered on about being nervous over the upcoming taping with Marion McPartland -of public TV fame- and said out of the side of her mouth that she didn't really play piano... ( unbelievable that she still makes those comments, although quite ironic after her obvious prowess at the piano) then went on with a funny story about her piano lessons...during which, she would start to play some classical piece by Mozart and then go into a complete improv. Her teacher would then ask her if she could do that again, and "now, that's a good teacher'" FYI: I picked up a flyer for the Carnival Cruise 'Festival at Sea' that Falcon Ridge FF is sponsoring. September 5 to 10, 2005, from NYC to Nova Scotia, including Ms. Werner, The Kennedys and The Nields. So, I'm going. How about you? (I could use a roommate) It is 500 to 700 dollars depending on cabin choice, for 5 days all inclusive (except alcohol I think). This includes a private party and 2 private concerts as well as a Q & A session (for those of you with burning questions). See FRFF website at www.falconridgefolk.com for all the details, or the number for booking is 800-754-3170, I bet they'll fax you a flyer. What fun, I hope I get to see everybody there. Black Jack anyone?
