I'm writing to get an idea of how many people would possibly be interested in participating in any of the following scenarios. FYI, tickets are now officially on sale for the November 6 Circle of Friends show. If you know now that you're coming, place your order as soon as you can. You can find ticket info. at http://fusf.org . These are some of the ideas that we've got for the day: (1) Believer's dinner at a restaurant near the venue - you'll have to rsvp for this, as we'll be reserving a function room. Non-believers are welcome of course, if they're joining you for the evening. ;) (2) Prior to the dinner, we thought it might be nice to use the function room for any and all believers to display their wares in a sort of mini exhibition hall, as we seem to have quite an eclectic group. For those of you who make things, or offer services, etc., we would set up tables for you. The rest of us could meander the room, chatting, enjoying appetizers, while looking at the various displays. Obviously we'll only do this if there's enough interest from potential "exhibitors". It was also suggested that any believers attending this event would get a free raffle ticket with a chance to win donated prizes made by other believers. Thoughts? (3) TRIBUTE CD - we'll have to talk with Kris about this, but we thought it might be nice to have the Tribute CD available for pick-up at the event. Also, for those performers who are interested and willing, we could have a performance/open mic featuring the cover songs in the function room. Others who would be interested in performing could do so, but we'd most likely go with an advance sign up list to limit the amount of time spent with this particular activity. (Kris, any thoughts? Will the Tribute CDs be ready by this time? Could we have them available for just the cost of materials?) These are just a few ideas that have popped up. I'm more than happy to hear from all of you on other ideas. Also, If you think it might be possible for you to come, and you'd be looking for a room, please let me know. I can get discounted hotel rooms for believers if there are enough people willing to participate in a room block. I can also offer assistance with airfare, if you need it. Let me know!
