Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow-was the theme for the evening. Since I have traded my sedan for a 4 wheel drive, and the Tappan Zee is only 20 minutes away for me, I was there. (Wild horses can't keep me away-that is if I have been diligent enough [read-have enough time] to check the tour schedule and have a clue she is somewhere in the vicinity.) Susan was relaxed and in fine voice. She had a shortened version of her recent play list-lots of piano (since she shared the bill with Patty Larkin - my first time seeing Patty and she was very enjoyable). I just love Suzy's Red Dress song, it has that open-honest quality, we all enjoy, imbued with steamy visuals and melody. I wish I could remember the song at the close with Patty, they played very well together and were obviously having a great time. It had a "Santa Baby" quality to it-my mind is a blank and full of work and holiday craziness. Susan did an imitation of Jane driving-wide eyed, slightly shaking and clutching the steering wheel as they drove from Philly. Very amusing. As it happens, they turned around and went back to Philly that night since Suzy was playing at the Tin Angel the next night. The show must go on (and it's better to beat most of the snow when it continues coming down in buckets like that). Afterwards, I spoke to Suzy who said that she was really looking forward to more New York shows in the near future, and she sounded pleased with the new "thing-y" coming out in March. Her star is overdue to rise high (my message to God's inbox). Hope all is well with you and yours at this holiday season. May God Bless you and keep you well.
