Just wanted to let people know about a gig I'm participating in on the 22nd, at one of Suze's favorite spots -- Uncle Calvin's Coffeehouse in Dallas (www.unclecalvins.org). Back in April, a longtime volunteer (Jim Ross, who some of you may have known) suffered a heart attack after a show and passed away, despite our best efforts to save him. Spurred by this, and to celebrate Jim's time with us, we're doing a fundraiser concert to purchase a set of defib paddles for the coffeehouse (which run about $2K). This particular concert will feature several of the various performing talents of the Calvin's volunteer staff, including yours truly, doing about three songs each... So if you're in the area, please make the effort to attend, and enjoy a fun night of music for a great cause. And if you cannot attend, yet would like to make a donation to the defib fund, please contact me offlist. I hope to see some of you there!
