(I'm doing my best to promote Susan among the Broadway/cabaret community; I guess I'm kinda stunned that "Maybe If I Sang Cole Porter" isn't being sung by every cabaret singer in New York.) After I posted the message, a reply was posted by the cabaret singer Jonathan Frank, saying that he was disappointed that he'd missed Susan's show (he hadn't known about it); that he's also surprised Susan isn't better known; and that he's singing one of Susan's songs during his current act. So, here's the latest posting about Jonathan's current show. (Yes, it's a little late, so the April 23 show is over by now, sorry...) Although this press release doesn't mention Susan, Jonathan does assure me that he sings "Movie of My Life" during the show. More information is available at www.JonathanFrank.com . - -Tim Jonathan Frank at The Duplex in "Some Kind of Music" April 23 and April 30 Performer Jonathan Frank returns to The Duplex in Some Kind of Music, his first show in New York after close to three years, and his first since moving to New York from Seattle. To help celebrate that move, Some Kind of Music features songs from several songwriters he has met since moving to New York, including Tim DiPasqua, Michael Holland, and Tracy Stark, as well as songs from some old favorites, including Cy Coleman, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Rupert Holmes, Janis Ian, and Amanda McBroom. Some Kind of Music will be performed at The Duplex (61 Christopher Street) on Wednesdays, April 23 and 30 at 9pm. There is a $15 cover charge and a two drink minimum. For reservations call 212-255-5438. Jonathan will be joined by Dick Gallagher on piano, Ritt Henn on bass, and on April 23 and 30 by very special guest, Julie Reyburn. On April 4, 2003, Jonathan will be performing at Town Hall in Sentimental Journey: The Songs of World War II, part of their World Cabaret Series produced by Scott and Barbara Siegel. The evening will also feature Broadway greats Debbie Gravitte and Karen Mason. Ritt apparently was in the audience and happened to have his bass with him. He does a one-man act, singing humorous songs that he's written and playing bass. The next time Christine came to LA, Ritt opened the show for her. Yeah, but what happens when you get to the final verse and you're singing about somebody other than yourself? ;-) HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V7 #83 ****************************** --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- This has been a posting from the Susan Werner believers-digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the message
