Are you doing the CD liner? Are you making something that people can download and print out themselves? Have you considered including any pictures of the various people contributing (in any fashion)? That would be a cool addition, I would think... I'd like to see what all these other long distance listers look like!!! I discovered Susan "by accident" when she opened for Cheryl Wheeler in Des Moines, IA a couple of years ago. I became an instant fan. As a guitar player myself I was immediately impressed by her prowess - not to mention her vocal, song writing and keyboard mastery! I thoroughly enjoyed her recent live DVD. Even though I won't be contributing to the CD, I'd like to share the list of my axes, of which I am very proud: * James A. Olson SJ cedar/rosewood * Peter Granata cutaway koa * Taylor 1995 Limited Edition GA/RS * Martin D-28 1982 * Takamine 2001 Limited Edition * Conde Hermanos 1967 classical * Rickenbacker 370 - 12-string electric(Roger McGuinn) * Gretsch 1962 Country Gentleman double cutaway (Harrison model) I look forward to hearing from other "Believers". All the best, Poldo. Send them to gappgh@yahoo.com though... otherwise my usual email will crash due to lack of space. A few ground rules. Smallish or medium files appreciated... His two main axes during the "glory days" of The Beatles were a 1962 Country Classic II("Country Gentleman" Double Cutaway) and a 1963 Model 6122. He had many others.........! There is a GREAT book strictly on Beatles instruments - "Beatles Gear - All The Fab Four's Instruments, From Stage To Studio" by Andy Babiuk - 2001 Backbeat Books. Chet Atkins was the original "Country Gentleman". Pickin'ly yours, Poldo. Ron Rosen wrote: > My friend used to have a Gretsch. Although I rarely play anymore (my musical exploits have been pretty limited to singing, conducting and a little arranging for the last decade or so), when I played the electric guitar, I played a Gretsch that my mother bought for me in Waterloo, Iowa when I was a teenager. Last Christmas, I gifted my best friend's six-year old daughter with the Gretsch. She also received an acoustic from her folks. She was thrilled with both! Also last Christmas, I gifted my youngest godson (who's five-years old) with a brand new, neon green recorder and a pair of green maracas that had been collecting dust in my attic (with the three other maracas I still have). This may be inconceivable to some of you, but... I have two acoustic guitars and I don't know the pedigree of either of them. (They must be mutts! LOL) One has a smaller body (classical?); I received it from my grandmother when I was around eight. The other is medium-sized and was gifted to me by an old college friend (not Susan) from whom I also received a pair of stereo speakers and a parrot I named Monty (whom I gave away after discovering that his squawking when I was suffering from migraines drove me to murderous ruminations). When some of you professional and semi-pro performers refer to altered tunings, recording software, etc., I feel so unworthy. ;^) Humbly yours, Chuck Ellingson P.S. The March concert of the Wisconsin Cream City Chorus was cancelled this past week due to the resignation of our guest conductor because of medical reasons. Since I was planning on recording my submission for "Maybe If I Sang Susan Werner" after the concert using recording equipment set up for the concert, I will be unable to propound "Little Yellow House"... so it's up for grabs. (I'd love to hear it performed by a small ensemble... Hint, hint, Charlie, et. al.) _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
