I was thinking that original material might be more fun, so that we could all get to know each other a bit more through the various types of music that we do, on any given day, but we could each do two songs - - - one Susie, and one original, if that's what the list is hankering for. ;) I don't have a mastering studio here, but I do have a cute little iMac with a CD burner, so I could pitch in on that end. Depending on where we want to go with this (sales for charity to CD just for listers), folks could mail me one fully mixed, mastered copy of their song and I could put the whole thing together with iTunes. Of course, there's no guarantee that each song would be burned at the same level. John Vavrek said he might be able to master, yes? That would be great! Back to the Charity CD idea - would be then put this compilation up for sale, at internet outlets like CDBABY, CDSTREET, etc.? Or are we talkin' sales within our own little group here? I had envisioned this as something free for all interested listers to share, but if we were to go with the Charity option, how would this work? And in covering all Susan tunes, wouldn't we have to get Larry or Susan involved to release copyrights to us if the work we do is for sale? I think Susan's with BMI and they'd want a chunk of change for each song to pay Susan her royalties. I'm sadly more ignorant here than I should be. Can anyone fill in the blanks? I can also offer a studio to record your track if anyone wants to make a trek to NH. If this comes to fruition I'll suggest formats that I can take your raw material in, and then we can proceed from there. I can also do some duplication, but depending on the numbers I have access to a great dupe house. Let's talk more about this. I'll also talk with Susan and see what the legal implications are. She may have retained all of her publishing rights to her material, which would make this easy.
