Did anyone else catch Rod Stewart butchering the standards on New Year's Rockin' Eve last night? Just keep on paving the way for Susan to set the world on fire, is all I can say ... Lea reported: >To that end, (and for a few other reasons), I have started up a new music >venue in Pelham, NY, (just north of the bronx and east of New Rochelle), >called PJ's cafe. We hope to have Susan performing there in 2003/04, but in >the meanwhile, coming up on Feb. 2 we have Trina Hamlin. Congratulations, Lea!! You're living my dream. :) Trina Hamlin is one of the most amazing musicians and live performers out there today, and it's a crime that she's not better known. She has a killer voice, and plays blazing blues harp, guitar, and piano. NY Believers may remember her from when she opened for Susan at Makor a couple years ago -- she impressed Susan so much that Susan invited her to play harmonica on a song during her set (I forget which one it was, I think it was "Little Yellow House"). Anyway, I heartily recommend putting Trina on your radar and going to see her if she's ever in your area. As for Pelham on 2/2, I'll try to be there!! I never pass up a chance to see Trina whenever I can, and of course it's vitally important to support a new music venue whenever possible. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org NEXT UP: Holly Figueroa, 1/26/03 ============================================== HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Jan 2003 18:34:32 -0500 From: meredith Subject: best of 2002 Hi, Following is an abbreviated rundown of my annual year-end spew to the ecto mailing list.
