Sounds dreadful! >If the concept of vegan pizza doesn't appeal to you either, >definitely eat dinner elsewhere! I agree the food is not conventional, but I've never had a bad meal there. Besides the "veggie pizzas" (I think only one is "vegan"), they offer soup and salads, plus deserts and drinks; every pizza topping can also be ordered over a bed of rice. The owner of the venue's food service offers veggie food classes on site, and the classes are always packed. Their Sunday brunch is usually filled with patrons, and Boston's "phantom gourmet" declared them this year's "best new pizzaria", so I can't be the only one who likes the food. :-) Of course, your mileage may vary. For the curious, or the cautious, their menu is available online at http://www.clubpassim.com/veggieplanet/ >(And I'm not even going to get into the "service". True, only two servers to cover 20 tables. If I arrive early (which is almost always) I order a full meal, which I have usually *completed* before the show starts. If I arrive too close to show time, I order a drink and dessert, which easily meets the "$5 cover". Jeff added: >I've never had anyone in my party be charged the $5 minimum. The "$5 cover" is their written policy (see their web site). I've never considered questioning it, since it seems a reasonable minimum for the table seating. Meredith continued: >All that aside, Passim is a great place to see a show. The sound >is always great, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Agreed. Refreshingly smoke-free, and a surprisingly quiet audience for a venue where people are eating during the show. ~walkabout HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V6 #227 ******************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- This has been a posting from the Susan Werner believers-digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the message
