Just to make sure that all viewpoints are represented ... the worst food I've ever been served in my life (and that includes school cafeterias) was at Club Passim. I'll never eat there again. If the concept of vegan pizza doesn't appeal to you either, definitely eat dinner elsewhere! (And I'm not even going to get into the "service". I can understand the high and noble concept of wanting the one or two servers to be able to make a living wage from their tips, but it seems counterproductive to bring the level of service down to almost nil as a result of woeful understaffing. I can't imagine they're really making that much more from their tips that way -- I can't be the only one in this day and age who still tips based on the quality of the service! But enough of that.) All that aside, Passim is a great place to see a show. The sound is always great, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. ============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth ============================================== Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://muzak.smoe.org NEXT UP: Holly Figueroa, 1/26/03 ============================================== HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2002 20:36:18 -0800 From: "Ron Rosen" Subject: Re: Club Passim seating > I can understand the high and > noble concept of wanting the one or two servers to be able to make a living > wage from their tips, but it seems counterproductive to bring the level of > service down to almost nil as a result of woeful understaffing. It could just be a case of being passim aggressive. I'll beg to differ with you on the delicious veggie food bit. I will add that they've recently started to serve rice-based dishes (basically their pizza toppings over rice) in addition to the veggie pizzas. I'm with Meredith in vowing to never eat dinner there again, after being the victim of truely horrific service and totally indifferent management there. I've never had anyone in my party be charged the $5 minimum. So, I would advise this: 1) Make a 'dinner reservation' 2) Go have dinner at one of the million of excellent places to eat in Harvard Square. I'd be happy to give suggestions. 3) Show up at Passim about 1/2 hour before showtime to find your table held for you. 4) Sit down, and have a nice dessert and refreshing italian soda at Passim. - -j HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2002 22:57:16 -0800 From: "Ron Rosen" Subject: Musta been a long time..
