I know that on this list are people with vast stores of knowledge, great musical talent, immense collections of recordings, and [a whole lot of other complimentary things were said here]. Does anybody have a good, old, authentic American lyric to the old tune: O, Shenandoah? I've heard it covered by lots of people through the years, but neither my public library, my home library nor the usual lyric sites are doing me much good. I want to arrange this song for a concert I'm doing next spring, and I'd like to dig into as much Americana (the subject of the concert) as I can. (The concert is also going to China next summer, but without me :( too much time for a single dad to be away.) Any help would be welcome! Haven't heard any concert reviews lately. Suze sure hasn't been in Oregon, or I wouldn't be Jones-ing. It'd be great for us "out-westers" if any of you folk want to share your concert experiences. ...the next best thing to being there! thanks, John Eugene, Oregon HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 18:24:52 -0700 From: "Ron Rosen" Subject: Re: lyric request/ non SW You can probably find dozens of versions on the net. Go to www.google.com and select a unique phrase fromr one of the lyrics that you know like "Shenandoah, I long to". Put it in quotes, and search it. Here's one I found doing this, there are probably many others.
