Having not listened to this CD for quite some time, I'm enjoying it again... and here's Susan's song... It's in a different key... It's "sung" much more than Susan's more conversational approach to the song... It's obviously lacking Susan's wry wit... There's less emphasis on some words: "Such (the electric pair)"... "Doomed (in a way, like all the others)." No beat before "Classic (affairs are rare and fleeting)." Instead of Susan's "how" in the last line, Lee sings, "It's good that I don't miss you much at all." It's not fair comparing anyone else's recording of Susan's song to her own renditions... so I'll just say that if you want to hear Lee Lessack's cover, it's on his CD "I Know You by Heart," which, I believe, Simona stated may be purchased online at cdnow.com. The rest of the songs are more cabaret / theatre / art song than folk or jazz. (He even sings with a singer / actor acquaintance of mine. Email me off-list if you want to know more.) On a slightly different bent... I want to say a very sincere "Thank you!" to those of you who have actively befriended me, emailed me off-list, complimented me and made me feel that I have somehow contributed something good to your life. (Thank you, also, to all of you who emailed to encourage me after my cousin shot himself in the head last year. Unfortunately, he has again fallen into the abusive arms of alcoholism and is the midst of the dissolution of his marriage.) Kel, I love you like a sister. Ron, I still say you're one of the funniest people on the planet. Simona, I cherish your friendship and assistance. Barb, I hope you resurface soon and that sunshine surrounds you and comforts you all the days of your life. Tony'a, keep writing; your contributions are appreciated. Amanda, I hope the answers you seek are right around the corner. Suzie, I'm truly flattered by your kind words. For the many others of you that I've inopportunely neglected, I apologize. I think you are some of the most intelligent and beautiful (from the inside out) people I've ever encountered! I hope you all appreciate yourselves as much as I appreciate you!!! OK, will somebody PLEASE tell me... Is that a doorbell in (June in) Chattanooga in "Man I Used to Love"? If not, WHAT IS IT?!? Peace, Chuck "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make."
