There's a song about Mies Van der Rohe on susan's repetoire. This art and architecture buff wants to know more.
Plus, whoever's putting this together can count on me for some stuff. You just have to wait till I move, unpack and get everything back together. So about a month!

Not really a song, just sort of an impromptu parody.  It's to the tune of 3 blind
mice.  I'm not sure how it got started.  Maybe in connection with her song about
Frank Lloyd Wright.  Here are excerpts from two show reviews about it.

A. Review by Carolyn Andre

<here she digressed about having recently taken an architectural boat tour
of Chicago recently -- they run on the river & lake (actually it is kinda
cool - just did it myself with a visiting friend from NY this past summer)
and segued into a 'critique' of Mies Van der Rohe sung to the tune of 3
Blind Mice:

He was an architect
He was an architect
The leading figure of modernism
...

She then went on about an architectural trilogy, with Frank Lloyd Wright
being next ... obviously not the unrecorded *serious* FLW song she has done
in the past ... same tune:

he was an architect

founder of the priaire school ....

then to go on to something about the buildings all falling apart.
....

And her "third" would be i m pei.

she was quite clear that this tongue-in-cheek critiquing was *not* of the
architects she liked <g>

B. Review by Ron Rosen

She did the Mies Van der Rohe (a cappella
to the tune of 3 Blind Mice) song in San Diego and during one of the McCabe's shows.
She commented that since Ellis had suggested the Frank Lloyd Wright verse, it was
their first co-write.  Part of the Frank Lloyd Wright verse goes something like this:

He cantilevered his homes to the hilt.
But most of them were badly built.
So if your house is beginning to tilt.
It's a Frank Lloyd Wright.
