I was there for a change, and brought 4 newbies-girlfriends from the neighborhood-who enjoyed themselves very much. Susie was wonderful, as usual, and played a few new songs-much to my delight. I was happy to see her play that I can't even tell you what those new songs were. She said she was going to be in the studio the next day-Friday-with her band. :) Hope all is well. They are *often* striking. "Help" in particular raised hairs when I first heard it. I'd love to have a disc of all the covers she has done. In fact, if people have recordings of some of them and are willing to share, I'd be glad to put a disc together and tree it here on Believers. Here are a few I remember off the top of my head: Help Billy Joe Something So Right Everybody's Talking Dow Re Mi (more of a parody really) Me And Mrs. Jones Summertime with Moxy Fruvous The duet with Vance G. where she's Satchmo and he's Billie Holiday The River Is Wide with Dee Carstensen and now Everybody Hurts (would love to hear that) What are some of your favorites? Anybody think this compilation tree is a good idea? John, your idea ROCKS!!! What I wouldn't do for a CD of Susan perorming these songs as ONLY Susan can! PLEASE, make it happen! I'm giddy with anticipation! It's a good idea, but a monumental task. I would scratch Dow Re Mi because it is a parody and then you'd have to include Boy from East Dubuque and even Meis Van der Rohe. You might also want to leave out those that are already on Susan's albums. I'd say, gather as many as you can and then assemble them into your favorites that fit onto a disk or two.
