Full moon is a time to gather in circles and share in beauty with others more specifically when it is in Aquarius it is a good time for networking with friends and for community gatherings. a time to free of old patterns and allow your insightfulness and visionary qualities be stimulated. this was clear from everyone's interpretations of the signs. Tracy wrote of Dave in her eloquent letter He loved beauty, he was hopelessly drawn to the magic and the light in all things what a memorial to him Falcon Ridge was this year...from the fat orange mead moon rising on thursday night over the mountain to to the beautiful circle of fresh flowers placed on the ground once the alter to Dave was broken down, to the the flock of 7 (possibly 9) wild geese flying south over main stage in formation against the twilight sky as Tracy sang The Mountain. Then there where the many breathtaking musical moments from Katryna and Nerissa Nields chillin delivery of Meet You in the Sky to Tracys moving performance of Gentle Soldier of my Soul, to The Kennedys soulful performance of When I Go and Tracy's courageous and meaningful lead in the Falcon Ridge closing tradition "Never Turning Back" to "Keep on moving forward...keep on loving proudly...keep on crossing borders, never turning back." there was beauty everywhere, in nature, in peoples hearts, eyes and voices, in community... as Dar would say we found magic everywhere! there where plenty of moments too that i was overcome with grief, the sadness of seeing a sister in pain, the anger that rose as Ani DiFranco set her political commentary to music that moved her to tears, the grief of the world in despair and disconnect. most often my tears came at the bittersweet moments. Tracy was one of my teachers this weekend, though i did not really speak with her, still her presence, her grace, her love, her beauty taught me a lot. her ability to be fully present and walk her truth, and not shut down, her ability to experience the joy as well as the pain. Her abilty to share her grief and allow others in. so often we check out, leave our body because emotions get too intense and too painful. we miss so much when we do that sometimes we never fully return to our fullness for when we shut down a section of us soemtimes we never return to and the wound never fuly heals. often it is not a conscious decision, for it happens when we do not stay grounded. death in our culture or any permananet change has always been a subject that we shy away from and avoid (funny as it it the one this we know for sure). to Dave Carter clearly it was a subject he explored frequently and feared less and passed on his insight through his songwriting. a great community has been born, how can we carry this community on and provide support each other with the necessary support to stay on our chosen paths whatever they are, how can we support one another and remain conscious, always noticing the signs and symbols- i believe they are always there, communication between the worlds...sometimes we need help interpreting them. Dave Carters gift to us is surely for us to keep looking and really seeing, listening and really hearing for sometimes the signs a quiet and fast and the beauty lasts but a moment. hell probably do all that he can to keep those signs coming and we gotto keep noticing them. what a tribute to him when we all become that much more conscious. this is a subject that i think about a lot and like to explore. i welcome peoples respectful comments and thoughts. the path is indeed broad and long sister(s) and brothers lets try to stay the path together and create a change in consciousness that we will all benefit from, new paradigm that will create global change. with thanks to Dave and Tracy opening the forum which allows us to change. What we abandon stays with us; What we give away. We share. Everything new becomes old. What we lose is waiting somewhere. - Lewis Gardner love, tony(a) lemos www.blazingstarherbs.com _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 2 Aug 2002 11:39:31 EDT From: WoodellDC@aol.com Subject: First of the Good Lesbian Barbies Simona noted the other day (apologies for my delay in replying): > Hmmm... Well, despite what others might claim, I have what I claim is the first Lesbian Barbie. I bought her some of Ken's clothes and gave her a set of rainbow rings to wear around her neck. I couldn't bear to part with her long blond hair (seeing as how a little girl somewhere earned 3 cents that day), but "butched" her up a bit. And Lesbian Barbie actually got to visit the gay pride store in Northampton, Mass., in the summer of 2000, where she got to pose for a photo on a box with a sign touting Melissa Ferrick's new record, and then she joined Fran and me for the rest of the week in that queer mecca, Provincetown, where she enjoyed a day at the beach with us :-) Deb The further in you look, the further out you see... -- Sonia Rutstein HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 02 Aug 2002 11:14:36 -0500 From: "Chuck Ellingson" Subject: Re: First of the Good Lesbian Barbies Nice job, Deb!
