The first couple times I saw here do Philanthropy, last October, it was on guitar. But she did it during the piano set the first time and she was sitting on the piano bench when she did it. - -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . "Late in the Time Zone" has a melody similar to many of Cole Porter's or Gershwin's love ballads. Late in the Time Zone copyright susan werner 2002 I like lovin' in the evening the way that all true lovers do with just a little daylight through the curtains late in the time zone with you i like sleeping in the morning that's how the sun prefers it too not hurrying to another day of labour late in the time zone with you So give me Texas Western, Texas in the Central and Michigan, my favorite in the East There's no time like Idaho time in the Mountain Give me Los Angeles in the ???? I remember back in March, Susan was talking between songs about how San Diego was later in the time zone than some other place. At the time it was just a rap, no song. She seemed interested in the idea that time zones are roughly 1,000 miles wide. If you're at the very western edge of a time zone, you have light later than the people who at the eastern edge of that time zone. I.e. it's darker in NY at 6:00 pm than it is in Cleveland at 6:00 pm. Interesting observation. The other day I was thinking, wouldn't it be weird if we got rid of time zones altogether? It would be the same time everywhere. Then all but a few would have to readjust completely. Like some people would go to work at 1 am, as their day began. Then they would get home at 10 am, which would be around dinner time. It would make life really complicated because you wouldn't be able to think, "California ia 3 hours later, they must be at lunch now." You would have to think, It's 1 am everywhere. In California it mean that they're just getting to work, but in NY it is lunchtime. You would need big charts to figure out what parts of the world generally do what at a paricular time. - -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ . And, to the muted keys of an old piano, Rick Blaine asks, "It's December 1941 in Casablanca. What time do you think it is in New York? ..... I bet they're all asleep in New York."
