I'll leave that kind of playing > to the pros : ) Valid comment, Gail... If you'll permit me to reminisce... When I was just starting to get into folk/acoustic, I had really not done anything with the guitar for years, but had been reasonably proficient with chords. SW was the first folk show I went to, and a year or so later, I was attempting to decipher "Snow White" simply as a challenge to myself, to pick the guitar up again... but the apparent catalyst to my playing was seeing Sara Hickman in '99 -- I remembered watching her on one song ("Eight") do this huge stretch with her index finger, walking the neck on a series of chords, and thought, "what IS she doing.... that's cool .. I gotta figure this out...". I bought the CD, and listened to the song over and over, retuning my guitar so the "ringing" notes seemed to match... and suddenly I was playing in Open G without really even realizing what it was, never having considered alternate tunings before... And wound up learning/covering about three other songs from the same album that were in Standard...
