I just wanted to second his suggestion to watch out for these two. Both *well* worth the listen! Pat plays on Monday just before I go on...and Rachel plays later in the evening on Monday... At the end, she was talking about how good Bonnie Raitt looks > "au naturelle", with the gray in her hair, etc., but then, how can we > really *know* if she's au naturelle? She even started to sound like Bonnie > Raitt (she's a gifted mimic!). She made it clear at the end, of course, > that she has no idea whether Bonnie Raitt has had any "enhancements", > shall we say, that she was very nice to Susan when they met, and Susan has > nothing but admiration for her. Bonnie was interviewed by David Dye on the "World Cafe" about a month ago. He mentioned the great close-up shot of her on her new CD cover, and asked if its title "Silver Lining" was a reference to the gray streak in her hair! She admitted that she'd been asked that, but it had not occurred to her until after the album came out. David then mentioned that his wife loves how that gray streak makes Bonnie look; Bonnie replied that she started to go gray when she was 24, but that these days, that gray streak is the only natural color left on her head! She said she doesn't have the courage to let it all hang out, like Emmylou does. BTW, Bonnie's dad John Raitt, who is 85, has a full head of gray hair and looks great. (He may be playing the Starkeeper at the "Carousel" concert with Hugh Jackman at Carnegie Hall on June 6-- I'm going, and I have my fingers crossed...) One more thing: my sister used to get her hair done regularly at a salon called Red Red Red, a few blocks away from the Tin Angel. One day about a decade ago, her stylist told her that Bonnie had just been in the day before to get her hair colored... - -Tim HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V6 #110 ******************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- This has been a posting from the Susan Werner believers-digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the message
