I should have realized that it was pointless to answer someone who seems so unreasonable. so sorry, you don't have to pull over and turn this car around! ~simona Simona L. "ill shake that one off like a fast ball" as an audience we dont have the right to demand what an artist plays. if there is something special we want to hear.. all we can do is ask and maybe the request.. will be obliged or maybe it wont... it is a REQUEST after all... there are certain songs that artists write songs that they really dont remember. they have a right to say.. i cant play that one.. especially when people yell for obscure material.. that is not in their usual repetoire .. and susan has such a vast catalogue of songs.. which bring us back to the discussion of .. is it appropriate for JOHN Gorka to bring his songbook on stage" the personae of JOHN Gorka.. one who forgets his OWN songs .. or only asks for requests.. FAST or SLOW .. OLD or NEW would allow for the flexibility of his using his song book.. if an artist is new to lyrics or trying out a new song that is not finished.. i say hey why not.. a new song in the early stages can be interesting.. there are some artists who bring their lyrics or their dads just for security and never use them... especially if you see an artist frequently.. for those who see an artist once a year or so.. i know they want a show to be special for them.. because the opportunity doesnt come around too often... remember you can ask .. but a request is just that a request... sharon charlie... i will be your yoko ono yours too george... the SUSAN WERNER outpost tix are not on sale yet... Valentine's Day 2000 -- Susan comes out for an encore, and appears slightly lost as to what to play, lovesong-wise... so people (myself included) call out several songs... to which she smiles, nodding, and says, "Those are all very good songs... and by a very talented songwriter, too!!! But....." and proceeds to play something totally different... yet no less effective...
