Check it out (especially as I've heard it's going/gone out of print)! Peace, Chuck P.S. I haven't responded to the listening question (at least partially) because I don't have "New Non-fiction" yet, but in my car I have Robbie Williams' "Sing When You're Winning," NOW That's What I Call Christmas, Mannheim Steamroller's new Christmas CD, Barbra's new Christmas CD and that fabulous EP by our own Kellie Lin Knott! And why isn't there more folk/singer/songwriter Christmas music, anyway???? Seems like the sort of compliation that would be right up, say, Christine Lavin's alley. Just finished reading 'The Fourth Hand', the newest by John Irving, and am diving into 'The Fiery Cross' by Diana Gabaldon, the 5th installment in her marvelous 'Outlander' series. Someone mentioned Dave Eggers 'A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius' - I agree with that positive review - an interesting read, and it took me a while to get used to Eggers' style, but once I did it really WORKED. One of the best books I've read in a long time, and one I actually purchased, which is unusual for me, cuz I usually stick with the library, is 'Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates' by Tom Robbins. Quickly took a place on my all-time Top Ten list. And, just so there's some Susan Content here, I propose a new thread: What Christmas/Holiday song would you like to hear Susan perform? I think the most obvious choice would be 'The Christmas Song' (Chestnuts roasting...), on piano, of course... or maybe a nice, slow version of "Let It Snow'. Don't know about that, but my favorite Top 40 Christmas songs are the Beach Boys "Little Saint Nick" and "The Man With All the Toys" as well as Jose Feliciano's "Felice Navidad." Don MacLean's Dreidel Song might have to do in a pinch. > And, just so there's some Susan Content here, I propose a new thread: What > Christmas/Holiday song would you like to hear Susan perform? > I think the most obvious choice would be 'The Christmas Song' (Chestnuts > roasting...) ...by the late Mel Torme. One day in the early 60s, DJ Robert W. Morgan had just arrived in LA. He was driving down Hollywood Boulevard on one of those hot summer December LA days (see Annie Hall; see also Nov. 18, 2001) and he had the top down on his convertible. The radio was playing Nat King Cole's version of The Christmas Song. At a stop light, a guy pull up next to Morgan and asked him what station The Christmas Song was playing on and thanked him for the information. The guy was Mel Torme. One of those christmas songs, I think, "Let it Snow," was written on a hot summer day in LA. The writers were so hot, they decided to write a Christmas song to cool off. Has Susan ever done any Christmas songs at her December shows?
