I never agreed to any such rules nor would any thinking person ever agree to any restriction on the free exchange of ideas.****** ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ By this arguement, Rjabalos has stated he doesn't agree to the (very reasonable, I think) single rule that I use to run this list. That rule is 'Be respectful to one another". What you mail to one another off list is none of my business, but what goes to the list is. I certainly don't have the time to moderate him, so he's on vacation for a while. To get more than about 48 minutes from an LP, you had to squish the grooves so close together (and consequently they couldn't be as 'tall') that scratches, pops, and clicks became more of a problem. OK, here's a clue what an old fogey I am: somewhere around here I have my LP of Elvis Costello's "Get Happy", clocking in at an amazing 53 minutes or so, complete with original sticker on the outside that says something like, "This LP uses MicroGroove technology to achieve an amazing playing time of 53 minutes. Some slight loss of fidelity may result." !!! BTW, CDs can be pressed in lengths up to 80 minutes now, although I believe the original Red Book standard was 74 minutes. Still, management beefs ( justified, though they are) aside.......I'm glad to see so many believers in Susan's music out there.....let's keep talking.......I still believe :-) Courtney Somethingblack.com HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V5 #224 ******************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- This has been a posting from the Susan Werner believers-digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the message
