I must have played the new CD about 4 times at the office today, and an equal # of times tonight as I was at the computer working. Yes, I wasn't totally attentive at all times during the day, what with phone calls & people interrupting. But this one is definitely a keeper!! A return to the strong vocal delivery. More of the great depth of lyrics and imagery - with twists of wry humor. (None of those fussy complaints I had about the last album. I can even tolerate the couple that are IMHO best suited to live shows rather than repeat listening.) ... maybe 'good for you' and 'nefertiti's dream' stick with me the most. Never having had the chance to hear it in concert, 'barbed wire boys' seems like a pairing with 'bonsai', as far as layers of imagery ...
