Hi, Leslie responded: >I read about this in our local paper today. They were very careful to say that the final decisions were left to >the individual program directors. The real deal appears to be that the program director from one Clear Channel station made up the list for his own station and decided to circulate it to the other Clear Channel program directors as a public service. So I guess Clear Channel can honestly say that they didn't make up the list, but I think it's telling that they didn't do anything to stop its implementation at its other stations. The other night, I saw Laurie Anderson perform in New York City. She performed many old songs which could be considered prescient, and if she were on the Top-40 radar at all I'm sure they would have been on Clear Channel's list. But instead of sounding inappropriate, they were helpful to hear -- to me and a couple of my friends who were also in the audience, anyway. Judging from what I overheard from other audience members after the show, nobody else was upset by the set list either. I think humans have more of a capacity to see things in their proper context than we're given credit for. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 22 Sep 2001 18:12:40 -0400 From: "Tim Dunleavy" Subject: Re: Need Photos & Graphics from 9-11-01 It's at http://www.dfwmetro.org/dana/images/new_wtc_fu_towers.jpg - -Tim - ----- Original Message ----- From: Laura Burgess To: Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2001 11:35 PM Subject: Need Photos & Graphics from 9-11-01 > Hi Believer friends, > > I am creating a web page with the wide variety of photos and graphics I've received so far this week. I'm looking for one that a friend showed me which I asked him to email to me, but so far has not. Knowing the sense of humor of the members of this group, I thought there might be a chance that one of you received it from someone and saved it; it's a mock photo of the "new WTC design" showing a tall tower flanked by 4 short towers, representing a hand with, er, the tallest finger extended in a certain, um, gesture?
