I have been waiting ever so patiently for Susan Werner to make it close to Ottawa and she finally made it. Unfortunately, seems that mother nature decided that since we haven't had rain in ages, yesterday would be perfect. Two large thunderstorms and I couldn't find out from anyone if the show was still on (I was going to the festival later in the day because of family issues). The last one at 5:30 was a doozie and I thought for sure that the show would have been cancelled. Apparently it went on without me... http://www.ottawacitizen.com/entertainment/010827/669908.html - -- Making the Web Work for You (tm) Susan Duncan (sduncan@malico.com) Voice: (613) 744-3283 Director, Internet Development Fax: (613) 744-1825 http://www.malico.com Toll Free: (877) WEB-PROS http://www.OttawaWEB.COM MALICO - Graphic Design and Internet Development Founders: Ottawa-Hull Chapter-Int'l Webmasters Association "Top 50 Web Development Companies in Canada" - Branham Report/National Post HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 09:07:58 -0400 From: "Sally Green" Subject: Ottawa folk fest Hey all - well, Ottawa was just great. Gail says that Susan is the hardest working woman in folk music, and I believe it! She did three workshops and a main stage performance. They were all great. She didn't have a piano until the main stage, which was Sunday night. It was raining off and on all day Sunday, including the big downpour that started around 5:30. After it stopped and the sun came out (about 2 hours), the show went on despite the soggy ground. I have to say that the highlight of all the Susan performances for me was a somewhat unexpected workshop that happened at 11am on Sunday morning. The title was "Speaking Out," and it was four women doing songs, poetry, monologues, etc. It was like unexpectedly stumbling on a Girl Power Hour. - --Sally sallyagreen@hotmail.com _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Aug 2001 06:58:10 -0700 From: "Susan Krauss" Subject: Bottom Line (NSW) This is off-topic but does the Bottom Line reserve tables now? When I lived in NY and frequented the Bottom Line (and frequent is the word), not only couldn't you reserve tables you couldn't even save seats. So we'd buy drinks for empty seats until the rest of our group got there and try to confuse the bouncers. I've always seen reserved tables there, usually for friends of the band and/or Allan Pepper, or for record label people. I'm not sure how a mere mortal would go about reserving one. I've never had trouble saving seats for people, though. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org ======================================= ectofest 2001: August 25, 2001 A benefit for RAINN Kenosia Lake Park, Danbury, CT http://www.ectofest.org HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V5 #161 ******************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- This has been a posting from the Susan Werner believers-digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the message
