So if you're going keep an eye out for me - I'm small, asian, have glasses and will be wearing a yellow Indigo Girls t-shirt. I'll also probably be bouncing around rather excitedly... Hope to meet some of you there! :) sherlyn =-=-=-= Sherlyn Koo - sherlyn@fl.net.au =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= [a+e=ig] "We will push on into that mystery And it'll push right back And there are worse things than that..." - Dar Williams HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Jul 2001 13:31:03 -0500 From: Bill Page Subject: Re: Susan at LL Bean About three years ago, I was in the Freeport store (I called it a pilgrimage at the time), and overheard the following: Shopper: "Do you have any XXX?" I only want to do this via the B&P method though. Please e-mail me if you are interested. Aieeee!!!! Blasphemy!!! Of course, it's probably harder for me to imagine that reaction than most. My grandfather shopped regularly at the original store; my dad was once stopped on the street and asked if Bean's was doing a catalog shoot in the area, because he literally looked like a walking ad (coat, boots, pants, gloves, hat); and at any given time there's a 98% chance I've got something on that came from there. :) Our pilgrimages used to happen at midnight on a summer evening. Since the store never closes (there aren't even any locks on the doors of the store), third shift is when you'll find the locals there, stocking up for the coming season and taking advantage of the free coffee and wonderfully loopy banter with the employees. This weekend was the first time I've seen the store in daylight in many years. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ End of believers-digest V5 #136 ******************************* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- This has been a posting from the Susan Werner believers-digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe believers-digest" in the body of the message
