She blew us all away with that, and I am so grateful to David K for posting the lyrics. I could almost--almost--hear the song again in my head. If it doesn't make the upcoming CD, I'll have to vote/beg for a CD tree with it. But I must also confess that I've been waiting 3 years for "Beautiful Chains of Love" to make it onto a CD, and if "May I Suggest" boots it off the upcoming CD, I will have mixed feelings. But I'll get over it. At Kerrville, we were lucky enough to hear Susan warm up, which she did with bits of "Chains of Love" on the piano, so when she went to the piano for her encore, I was convinced it would be "Chains." When "May I Suggest" started I was surprised, not disappointed, and then, of course, dumbfounded. We cried and smiled and nodded. (She did not use the "Dylan says, When in doubt write a hymn" intro for this song at Kerrville, though I've heard her say that re "Chains of Love" several times.) I guess I'm just still longing for the all piano CD... imagine... May I Suggest, Beautiful Chains of Love, It's Okay to Feel Good, Last Go Round, Tall Drink of Water, what else? Why Do You Bother At All, Late for the Dance, No One Needs to Know, I Can't Be New, So Nice Seeing You Again, I know I'm forgetting something. Then again, I've been longing for Brazil and Misery/Happiness and Frank Lloyd Wright for a long time, too, so I'LL JUST HAVE TO BE PATIENT. Phew. BTW Susan did say (Longwood Gardens,5-31-01) that she had recorded Beautiful Chains of Love in Nashville when I asked about it. Don't know if it made the cut or not. And I too compared the two songs favorably! Dave At 08:42 AM 6/26/01 -0500, you wrote: >My boyfriend and I heard "May I Suggest" at the end of Susan's >Kerrville set.
