Kaskela" Subject: SW Pa. shows Hi all- Just a quick note about the two Pa shows last week 5/27/01 King of Prussia Stationary Time Between Trains Blue Guitar Too Many Rooms Mercy in the Sky Sorry About Jesus Big Car Angel From Montgomery (Susan & Lloyd Mains on guitar, Xan Gardiner on vocals) Like Bonsai Misery/ Happiness Tall Drink of Water Maybe If I Sang Cole Porter Much At All I Can't Be New Standing In My Own Way Light Sleeper May I Suggest If you haven't heard May I Suggest it's a stunningly beautiful "hymn" (Susan's word) for a song a la Beautiful Chains of Love in which Susan sings "May I suggest...this is the best part of your life". Ask her to include it in the next show you see!! Speaking of what's included, and what's not, we talked about the new album. Most of the cuts were recorded last month in Nashville, a few more scheduled to be completed this month. The scheduled release is (hopefully) early fall. It sounds as if Karla Fay and Too Many Rooms are definites...Beautiful Chains of Love was recorded and may make this album (or the piano one)... When I asked her about specific songs she quipped "Now the lobbying begins!" which gave us both a good laugh. 5/31/01 Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square Time Betweeen Trains Shade of Grey Blue Guitar Too Many Rooms My Mother's Garden **** Big Car Barbed Wire Boys Misery/Happiness Tall Drink of Water Maybe If I Sang Cole Porter Much At All I Can't Be New Standing In My Own Way In the 40-50 shows I've seen this is the first time I've ever seen Susan perform My Mother's Garden. She did it in honor of her mother and the concert setting (on the terrace outside the orangerie of the old DuPont Estate- built so DuPont could have fresh oranges all year long- and a centerpiece of the Longwood Gardens and arboretum). It's been a while since Susan performed MMG- so long in fact she tore open a CD so as to have the words in front of her and spent the time before the show out the chords. What a treat!! As always the shows were great... but never long enough!!... always leave them begging for more. And "Dat's All Folks!"
