I've heard her sing many of the songs people are requesting and agree it would be nice if she recycles some of her golden oldies like "Midwestern Saturday Night" and the rest really soon. I would LOVE to hear Susan do a cover of Elton John's "Your Song" or "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me". I don't think she's ever done either live in concert (highly unlikely) but I think Susan's voice and Elton's words would be a powerful mix. "Through the Glass" is one I'd like to hear live, too. But, I don't think she does this one live at all anymore. I remember once, about three years ago at a Susan show in Connecticut, someone yelled out a request for "Through the Glass" and Susan said something about it being too intense and bringing the audience down too much and "I can never get them back after that." I thought that was really interesting -- and understandable given the subject matter of the song -- but I'd still like to hear it. If that's impossible, I'll second (or third or fourth or wherever we are now) the call for "Midwestern Saturday Night." Neat song. And please, please, please, let "No One Here But Me" stay in the mix for upcoming shows! It's about a theme that seems so "un-Susan," and it's not clear if it's based on personal experience or the experience of others that she has just captured. No one seems to recall her doing it live, and apparently it's "too heavy" to do live, which I fully understand. She seemed to react this way as early as 1995 right after LOTGSG came out. It just lives on the album and stands on its own. "I Can't Let You In" seems to be in a similar category. Same theme, although it was written by someone else, Susan just added some lyrics that she felt it needed. I don't know if anyone's seen it done live, but it does seem to be in the "too heavy" category. These are two great songs, but not ones that would normally come to mind when thinking of Susan's work. "St. Mary's of Regret" is an old favorite -- I think it's the closest thing to the perfect song that I've ever heard >> I think I've actually heard most of the stuff that's out on CD, live, except for about 1/2 of the tracks on MIdwestern Sat NIght. (that was before I got converted) St Mary's was one of the songs that won me over at my very first SW concert I attended (which was by misktake) For those of you who picked up the Bull Run recording from the swap tree, have you noticed the change in acoustics midway thru "La Vie"? I'm betting that was where she stepped out in front of the mikes....anyone who was there who can confirm this? And btw, is this indeed the last Bull Run concert? I really wanted to go to that one at the time, so somebody gets my hearty approval for taping it and sharing it w/ the tree! It was a very new song, and I'm pretty sure she had never done it for anyone before. I remember disliking it and wondering where it came from, since it was so different from her usual repertoire.
