It's called "TAKE BACK THE NIGHT", and is a gathering to raise awareness about and prevent violence against women and children. It takes place at Goodhugh Hall, on the Carlton College campus in Northfield, MN. Participation in any of the related happenings (including the concert) on Saturday, May 12, 2001, is free. Here is the schedule of events: 6:30 p.m. - Speak Out - a forum for anyone to share their experiences and stories on the subject matter in the company of friends (this takes place on the St. Olaf campus at Beau Chapel) 7:30 p.m. - The March - exactly as it sounds, a march which will start at Beau Chapel and end at Goodhugh Hall on the Carlton Campus. Following the march, there will be a 15 minute speech by a keynote speaker yet to be named. 9:00 p.m. - Susan Werner in Concert, Goodhugh Hall Superlounge For Further Info., contact the student organizers at this number: (507)646-4688 I'm pretty revved up about this. I would be attending even if Susan wasn't playing. In fact, when I first read the email from my pal, I didn't even see Susan's name....course, when I did, my enthusiasm near doubled.
