Oh well, here's hoping they both get a great turnout and Susan, if you ever read these things, would you please (pretty please) sing harmony when Ellis does his beautiful song "Conversation With A Ghost"???? Hi! This is for the Ellis Paul fans on this list who live in the Danbury, CT/eastern NY area. He is playing at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY on Saturday (where Susan has played countless times), and a really, really cool young drummer from Connecticut named Cadence Carroll is going to be opening for him. I think this is her biggest gig yet. I unfortunately can't make it, but maybe some of you are going? Here is the info: >Ok Folks, this is it! > >Cadence Carroll >opening for >Ellis Paul > >The Towne Crier Cafe >in Pawling, NY >(just a 45 minute drive from Norwalk) > >Saturday February 10, 2001 >@9:00PM >Reservations are highly recommended...come early and eat a fabulous dinner! >For info, directions, reservations, etc. call (845) 855-1300 or visit >www.townecrier.com > >It would be so amazing to have you all there to support me on this one! I >know it is going to be such a fun night. Ellis Paul rocks - it's going to be >an awesome evening! Wahoo! >My dear friends Rick Gedney and Christina Abbott will be there to help me out >on some tunes and I hope you will be there to help me sing one too! > >See you soon, Cadence :) +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Feb 2001 08:08:46 -0500 From: meredith Subject: Re: Susan's Show Friday night Hi! Last time Susan and Ellis were on the same bill, it was a double-bill, not one opening for the other. She just happened to go first. Is that perhaps the case here as well? (I don't know, just wondering.) +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ HELP! owner-believers@smoe.org Send mail to believers@smoe.org Susan's CD's are available on your desktop at World Cafe CDs http://worldcafecds.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Feb 2001 20:55:52 -0500 From: steve Subject: Initial Survey of Interest in a SW Live CDR Tree Believers, We are a small group of tapers located in the northeast US who have been recording Susan shows for several years and trading amongst ourselves. Thanks to Susan's recent policy changes and Charlie's cooperation, we intend to offer concerts to the list via a CDR tree. Read about trees: http://www.jmdl.com/trading/faqtree.htm taken from a Joni Mitchell site; for years these folks have been successfully distributing live music via "trees". Our tree will be CDR and DAT only, no cassettes. Tree members will need to purchase blank CDRs, mailers and postage; total outlay for all should be less than $5. For this cost of materials, you will receive a full SW concert (nearly filling two CDRs). There are two levels of participation in a CDR tree: (A) Those who are able to duplicate discs that they receive and send them onto others (this level is known as a 'branch') and (B) Those who want to receive a show but are unable to duplicate CD-Rs (this level is as a 'leaf'). The whole thing works on the generosity of the branches in spreading the music. We are undertaking a survey before we proceed with the tree signups in order to be sure that there are enough Believers who are able to duplicate CDRs and will volunteer to be branches in this tree. **There is no commitment required at this point; right now, this is a survey to determine the feasibility of this project. But please be sincere in your replies. If you wish to participate as a branch: please send a message before February 22 to stevemtl@somethingblack.com with 'branch' as the subject line; in the body of the message, please describe your equipment (i.e., computer burner, stand-alone audio burner, etc) If you wish to participate as a 'leaf': please send a message before February 22 to stevemtl@somethingblack.com with 'leaf' as the subject and leave the body of the message blank. Arrangements for DAT clones will be handled individually. Send an email to stevemtl@somethingblack.com before February 22 with 'DAT' as subject and the body blank. Again, there is no commitment at this point, your replies are for survey only. If there is--as we hope--enough interest and capability amongst Believers, we will announce the _actual_ tree signup soon after the 22nd.
