Hi everyone, things have been pretty quiet around here recently. Anyone else at the new jersey show Hightstown, I think! last saturday night, she played a double bill with Vance Gilbert. It was a really good one........my memory isn't great and I did not write down the set list but here are some of my highlights. She looked a little nervous right at the start (just my perception) beginning with Time between Trains followed by Petaluma Afternoons, followed by a bunch of newer ones. Susan played many new songs...yeh susan, most of which I liked a lot. My new favorite is "Yellow house with too many rooms" does anyone know the title for that one Also included was Last of THe Good Straight Girls, Misery and Happiness, a couple of "list" songs about meeting the right person and the right requirements! Then it was over to the piano for a set of 5....several new ones, plus Much at All, Cole Porter w/ some help from Vance Gilbert. Then she did a cover with VAnce (don't remember what) She ended with a new song with a title she didn't share that Jane wanted her to write a while ago.........do not remember much about it except i liked it. Does anyone know anything about this song?? Was anyone there??? Once going Susan Seemed realxed and happy on stage, not very chatty. Vance who he usually very chatty/funny was also focussed on playing and singing. If anyone has not seem him live- i really recommend him, another super performewr. I have seen susan play so many times now, from the night she first opened for Arlo Guthrie at the Iron Horse, Northampton and every time she blows me away with a poignent lyrics, clever observations, musical skill and stage presence....and smile. well, best get back to work..... seasonal Blessings tony(a) _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. I'm not too sure about the lyrics, but the subject is about a boy from school who commits suicide? As part of the story, I think he had his face pressed up against the classroom window, trying to survive on the air coming through a crack? Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but I was hoping somebody could help me find the name of that song.
